The cyan and magenta toner have been significantly changed to allow for certain colours to be printed that were not previously achievable on a toner based colour printer. While these new high chroma colours will be welcomed by some potential customers, not everyone will benefit from the features that this technology has to offer.

The number of Pantone simulations has been improved significantly. In fact, some Pantone simulations previously
well out of range for toner based machines are now simulated exceptionally well. Pantones consisting of Blues, Reds and Pinks are much closer to the actual Pantone colours.

Blends and gradations appear much smoother overall especially in the blues, greens, and reds.

Photographic images print better. Due to the improvement in blends and gradations, more shades of skin tone can be represented in a photograph offering a more natural look to photographs. This same benefit can also be seen in rich colour photos such as sunsets, landscapes and still life. For maximum benefit, the photographic image should be sent to the bizhub PRO C65hc in RGB.

Pastel colours have been improved significantly and print much smoother than previously seen.

Clients that utilize RGB software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD will notice that the colours that they have selected on their screen print much more accurately on a bizhub PRO C65hc than any other device.

It is no longer possible to print cyan and magenta similar to the cyan and magenta on a printing press. On the bizhub PRO C6501, the cyan and magenta are a much closer colour representation of the cyan and magenta used on a printing press. The cyan and magenta on the bizhub PRO C65hc would be considered much brighter (or lighter) in colour to the true cyan and magenta. Some other colour mixtures that consist of cyan and magenta will also no longer are available, especially darker shades.

With the change of cyan and magenta to lighter hues (colour), details may be lost in the shadows of images. For example, a tree that casts a dark shadow across a field of grass printed on the bizhub PRO C65hc may not have as much detail in the shadow (dark areas) as the bizhub PRO C6501.
